I never really understood why small children fight/avoid bedtime so much because as an adult I truly appreciate sleep. Sleep is essential to our health and well being.Think back on the last time you snapped at a loved one, struggled through simple tasks, neglected a workout, or made poor food choices. Poor sleep is often the culprit. Along with nutrition and exercise, good sleep is one of the pillars of health. You simply can not achieve optimal health without taking care of your sleep.
A night time routine is one of the ways to achieve great sleep. Stop all cell phone and other screen usage before bed. Having the same bedtime lets your body know when it’s time to start winding down. Read a book or take a calming bath. These are other quite bedtime rituals will help prepare your body for slumber.
Essential oils are always included in my bed time routine. I love to use Vetiver at bedtime. Other oils that I use during my night time routine are Cedarwood, Lavender, Peace and Calming, Stress Away, Orange, German Chamomile and Valor, oh the precious Valor works very well for me.
